Bridging the self-management gap
Recently I ran an online survey on this blog asking the question ‘Should self management include:’ and then I listed a number of options such as ‘injection therapy’, ‘medications’, ‘intermittent hands-on therapy’, ‘intermittent hands-off therapy’ and so on. My thoughts were that while the term ’self-management’ is bandied ab

Ten to know
The Brainspin blog has a list of 'Ten Psychology Studies from 2009 Worth Knowing About' that covers a mix of well-known studies and hidden gems from the last year. The descriptions, as you might expect, are a little brief and give just the punchline without some of the possible drawbacks but all are linked to the original study so you can them in full (well, at least as far as your access allows).

Why, Mr. Anderson, why, why do you persist?
Regular readers of this blog will be aware of my fascination with Carol Dweck and her entity versus incremental theory of intelligence/ability that I have blogged about extensively in the past. Patient-determined outcomes: If you can’t take my pain away, then at least let me do more
If I had a dollar for every time that I’ve asked someone what they would like from pain management and they’ve answered ‘take my pain away’ – well I wouldn’t be writing this blog early in the morning before work! The findings from this piece of research by Thorne and Morley (2009) suggests that people think [...]... In Praise of Michael Jackson
I've gotten a number of responses to my blog "The Waste of Michael Jackson" like these two:Someone with as much class as yourself should hope that people don't say hateful things about you during your passing. Lets remember that this man does have a family and regardless of what your opinion is, you should try to make a point objectively.+ + +You should have done more reserch before you write an
