Psychiatrists Say Promises For Psychological Therapies In Northern Ireland Must Not Be Watered Down, Northern Ireland

The publication of a A Strategy for the Development of Psychological Therapy Services is welcome, but the Royal College of Psychiatrists in Northern Ireland has warned that without proper funding it cannot be fully implemented, resulting in people with mental health problems here continuing to miss out on therapies that can turn their lives around...

Therapy 32 Times More Cost Effective At Increasing Happiness Than Money

Research by the University of Warwick and the University of Manchester finds that psychological therapy could be 32 times more cost effective at making you happy than simply obtaining more money. The research has obvious implications for large compensation awards in law courts but also has wider implications for general public health.

Psychotherapy As A Basic Right: A Lesson From UK

At the World Congress on Psychosomatic Medicine which opened today in Torino Lord Richard Layard, Professor at the London School of Economics, has provided data on the British experience concerned with Improved Access to Psychological Therapy (IAPT). This programme aims to train 3,500 therapists in CBT.
